GBIO was the first office in post-war Poland that executed projects for the local chemical industry.

Biprochem focused on providing clients comprehensive engineering, procurement and construction services.

Prosynchem was established as one of Biprochem's five departmental offices. The office provided EPC services for clients in Poland.

Fluor designed a 25 tpd methanol unit for Tarnów Chemical Works. The methanol design became a specialty of the Prosynchem office. Prosynchem was later acquired by Fluor.

Prosynchem completed the general initial design of Poland's first refinery and petrochemical complex for Mazovian Refinery & Petrochemical Works. Prosynchem designed the petrochemical complex, storage facilities, power needs and connections, demand for land, connections with the refinery and financial and economic conditions for the project. Prosynchem was later acquired by Fluor.

Oświęcim Chemical Works contracted Prosynchem to design a 140 tpd unit to replace a 30 tpd unit that had been designed by Prosynchem's predecessor GBIO. Prosynchem was later acquired by Fluor.

During the technology revolution, Prosynchem was the first engineering office to begin using computers.

Prosynchem developed the design and models for the Concordia Chemical Plant in Zabrze, Poland. Prosynchem was later acquired by Fluor.

Prosynchem completed the engineering for the Płock petrochemical complex. The complex included a liquid gas separation and propylene concentration unit, dry gas desulphurization unit, liquid gas desulphurisation unit, storage and shipment facilities for the petrochemical complex and raw material and power connections with the refinery. Prosynchem was later acquired by Fluor.

Prosynchem in cooperation with the Heavy Chemical Synthesis Institute completed the process design for the dimethyl terephthalate unit in Torun, Poland. The unit had a production capacity of 74,000 tons per year. Prosynchem was later acquired by Fluor.

In order to respond to the market demands in Poland and Eastern Europe, Prosynchem began expanding into the German Democratic Republic and Yugoslavian markets.

Prosynchem designed the modernization of carbide furnaces for SW in Piesteritz, GDR.

Prosynchem engineered an ammonia storage facility with a feed pipeline in Cyprus.

Prosynchem supported the design of Mazovian Refinery and Petrochemical Works ethylene oxide plant in Płock.

Prosynchem engineered the nitric acid plant for Feroelektro, Górażdże.

Prosynchem modernized the design of carbide furnaces for VEB Buna in Schkopau, GDR.

Prosynchem became a privately held company and was renamed Prosynchem Engineers and Contractors Ltd.

In 1990, the office started cooperating with the second largest Polish refinery, the Gdańsk Refinery. The first engineering work commissioned was the design of an airtight rail tank car loading system for absorption of hydrocarbons.

Prosynchem engineered the modernisation of the diesel oil desulfurization unit at the Gdansk Refinery for Grupa LOTOS S.A.

Fluor acquired Prosynchem in 1995, and continued to operate under the name Prosynchem until 2003.

In 1995, Fluor's office in Gliwice celebrated its 50th anniversary. The office was established to respond to the need for local engineering capabilities after WWII.

As part of the Gdańsk Refinery Expansion Programme, Fluor has completed many studies, modernisation efforts and upgrades on site.

Fluor's office in Gliwice was issued the Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance ISO 9001 certificate in 1998.

Fluor S.A. performed the front end engineering and design, engineering, procurement and CA for Tengizchevroil's butadiene dehydration project.

In 2003, Prosynchem Sp. z o.o. was transformed into Fluor Spółka Akcyjna. Since then, the office has carried the name under which it operates today.

Fluor S.A. was recognised with the Corporate Social Responsibility Company of the year by the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland in 2010.

Fluor S.A. was nominated as the Business Partner of the Year 2012 during the 2013 Gala with the President of the City of Gliwice.

Fluor S.A. was awarded the European Medal for Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services during the 25th edition of the competition organised by the Business Centre Club under the honorary patronage of the European Economic and Social Committee based in Brussels and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. This is the fourth year that Fluor S.A. has been awarded this honour – previously the company received the medals in 2007, 2009 and 2010. Fluor S.A. continues to maintain a high standard of services and is a benchmark of successful operation in the European services marketplace.

In 2014, Fluor Poland was awarded the Employer of Tomorrow award for producing initiatives addressed to students and graduates, introducing them to engineering and enabling them to position themselves in the labour marketplace.

Fluor S.A. holds the Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008 and the Occupational Safety and Health system in conformity with the standard PN-N 18001:2014. Fluor S.A. Fluor offices pursue the ”ZERO Incidents” programme that reflects the special care for the safety in each aspect of life, and hence in the execution of projects for its clients.

Fluor Gliwice celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2015. Additionally the office celebrated its 20th anniversary since the Fluor acquisition.
