Shell Canada Albian Sands Muskeg Oil Sands Mine
Fluor performed engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance services for the Muskeg River oil sands mine constructed as part of the Athabasca Oil Sands project.
The project was designed to produce 155,000 barrels per day of bitumen. Production began in late 2002 and will continue for approximately 30 years.
Fluor received several awards for its role on the project, including the Shell Canada President's award for Safest Contractor.
