OPG Darlington Nuclear Station Refurbishment

Fluor was selected by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the procurement and construction of refurbishment work at OPG's Darlington Nuclear Generating Station in Ontario, Canada.

Client's Challenge

Since the early 1990s, Darlington Nuclear Generating Station has produced approximately 20 percent of Ontario's electricity, representing more than two million homes each day. To continue reliable service, the facility is undergoing a mid-life refurbishment that will support 30 additional years of low-cost, clean power for Ontario.

Fluor's Solution

Fluor's scope will include the replacement of emergency power generators for Units 1 and 2. The new emergency power generators will replace the existing units that are approaching the end of their design life.
