Fluor was awarded a Bid-Build contract for the construction of the Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) U.S. 287 project in Ellis County, Texas. The project widened approximately 4.5 miles of U.S. 287 from two lanes to a four-lane divided asphalt highway with continuous frontage roads.
The investment by TxDOT in the expansion of U.S. 287, a main arterial route in Ennis, is part of the overall development of Ellis County and will continue the commercial and industrial development of the area.
The U.S. 287 project award allowed Fluor the opportunity to bring its wealth of construction resources and knowledge to the Bid-Build market in Texas. Fluor's strategic self-perform platform was formed to execute projects like U.S. 287, bringing TxDOT a strong partner in the Bid-Build market and a robust platform to support the growing infrastructure needs in Texas.
Construction on the U.S. 287 project began in the spring of 2017 and was completed in October 2019. The successful completion of U.S. 287 positions Fluor to continue to support the growing demand for infrastructure development and investment in Texas.
