Comanche Peak Units 1 and 2 Plant Maintenance

​Fluor provided ongoing services for plant modifications and improvements for the Comanche Peak Units 1 and 2 steam electric stations. In addition to plant supplemental maintenance and modification projects, Fluor also provided support in work order planning and scheduling, and supplemental maintenance.

Fluor's presence at Comanche Peak began in 1986.

Client's Challenge

​TU Electric Company requested Fluor to augment their site services for quality, safety and added the ability to respond to periodic maintenance and emergency needs.

Fluor's Solution

Fluor provided craft and craft supervision to the TU Electric maintenance departments for mechanical, electrical and instruments and controls. Fluor also provided craft, craft supervision, quality engineering, welding engineering technology and field engineering in all disciplines in support of construction completion of the HVAC systems.​

There is an average of 22 base staff and 175 base craftsmen at the site. Outages typically required 25 planners and supervisory personnel and 400 craftsmen. The work force consisted of mechanical, electrical and civil craftsmen.


Fluor provided plant modification and improvement services for the following TU Electric assets at Comanche Peak:

  • Unit 1 operational in 1990
  • Unit 2 operational in 1993
  • Two-unit, 2,300 MW PWR plant
