Kimberly-Clark Ogden Consumer Products Facility
Client: Kimberly-Clark Corporation
Location: Odgen, UT, U.S.
Business Segment: Urban Solutions
Industry: Manufacturing

Executive Summary
Working within a highly-compressed schedule, Fluor completed construction of this $110-million grass-roots consumer products manufacturing facility in just nine months.
We provided a fast-track execution delivery to include structural buildings, infrastructure, utilities and installation of process equipment.
Client's Challenge
To meet growing market demand for disposable diapers, Kimberly-Clark sanctioned a capital project to build the greenfield Ogden manufacturing plant. Covering an area of 430,000 square feet under roof, the facility included the manufacturing area, automated storage and retrieval systems, a mechanical and electrical building, an office building, a security building, truck and train docks and service support facilities.
Fluor's Solution
The fast-track schedule necessitated the closest possible cooperation between the design and construction teams. Through weekly constructability reviews with the construction team, the design team was able to incorporate a substantial number of cost-saving approaches.
An emphasis on quality by Kimberly-Clark and Fluor prevailed throughout the project. The resultant smooth checkout and start-up of production, with saleable products being produced over six weeks earlier than planned, was indicative of the success of this project.
Conclusion
In addition to this Ogden, Utah, facility, Fluor has carried out work for Kimberly-Clark plants in Coosa Pines, Alabama, and in Paris, Texas.
We have also built two non-woven manufacturing facilities for Kimberly-Clark in Lexington, North Carolina, and LaGrange, Georgia.
