Corporate Headquarters & Baking Facility - Engineering & Construction Management

Fluor provided engineering and construction management services for a new turnkey baking facility in Torrance, California.

The engineering work performed for this automated state-of-the-art facility to produce specialty bread and rolls included civil, structural, architectural, process, packaging, mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration design.

  • The new facility encompassed automated ingredient handling of all major, minor, and micro ingredients feeding a specialty mixing and makeup system.
  • All new process equipment installed for the production lines up to and including new packaging and product freezing in an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) warehouse.
  • Fluor handled both the construction management of the new concrete tilt-up 150,000-square-foot plant, including a new corporate headquarters, as well as the construction management of all equipment installation and start-up.
