Executive Summary
Fluor completed the second and final phase of Analog Devices’ assembly/test facilities campus in Cavite, Philippines. This phase included a new three-level main production building with a basement and elevated corridor link to the first-phase facilities, providing an additional 23,250 square meters for new semiconductor device production. This space included 8,840 square meters of Class 10k and Class 100k cleanroom space.
Aside from these production spaces, other new spaces included ancillary clean support, finished goods storage, failure analysis labs, general and HR offices and a new kitchen. The production building was supported by a new 1,320-square-meter central utilities plant, providing all required process and house utilities. The facility had the potential for 100% power generation capabilities.
Client's Challenge
The new facilities allowed Analog Devices to expand its semiconductor device production, meeting the growing need for electronic circuit components.
Fluor's Solution
The expansion project was designed and constructed utilizing our Tucson, Arizona, and Manila, Philippines, offices. We had previously completed the first phase of the project, which included a 14,425-square-meter assembly/test facility featuring front of line device manufacturing and testing.
Conclusion
We achieved the first completion milestone one month ahead of schedule, with the completed project cost approximately 4% below the original estimate. The project eclipsed 3,000,000 safe work hours, and the team was recognized for this achievement at the project completion ceremonies.
