Natural Gas


For more than 20 years, Fluor has been a leader in gas-fueled power generation with more than 50,000 megawatts installed globally. Solutions include simple cycle, combined cycle and behind-the-meter/cogeneration facilities in various configurations.

As clients seek to convert existing coal-fired assets to natural gas, or incorporate hydrogen blending, we are enhancing boiler and balance-of-plant modifications to facilitate a safe and cost-effective transition to alternative fuel sources.

Fluor offers a full range of integrated solutions to bring utility-scale renewable energy projects from conceptual design to final completion and comprehensive operations and maintenance services for the life of the asset.

For battery storage additions, we have the experience to optimize, construct and update existing facilities to stabilize storage and output, providing valuable peaking capacity during times of energy demand.

Carbon Capture


With decades of experience in hydrogen production and carbon capture, we assist our clients reduce carbon intensity from new or existing generating assets. Our expertise and technologies not only lower emissions but also prevent any produced emissions from entering the atmosphere.

Fluor's Econamine FG Plus℠ post-combustion carbon capture technology has been successfully demonstrated for use in power plants worldwide. This includes 14 years of commercial operation at the Bellingham natural gas-fired power plant in Massachusetts.

Dominion Virginia Greensville County Power Station

Location: Greensville County, VA, U.S.


The Greensville County Power Station was named Engineering Project of the Year by S&P Global Platts in its 2019 Global Energy Awards. Fluor provided engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services to build the largest and most efficient natural gas-fueled power station in Virginia after the successful completion of Dominion’s Bear Garden and Brunswick power stations. The 1,588-megawatt power station can produce enough electricity to power up to 400,000 homes at peak demand, providing Dominion with a cost-effective and reliable solution toward achieving federal clean-air standards.
