Fluor Daniel India Private Limited (Fluor India) was established in 1995 to provide a full range of engineering, design, procurement, and construction management services to Indian and overseas clients.
Fluor India has provided EPC and project management services to energy and chemicals, power, mining, and industrial projects, and is a key support office for Fluor facilities throughout the world.
1910s
Fluor quickly builds a reputation for innovation and precise engineering and construction work.

In 1888, John Simon "Si" Fluor emigrated from Switzerland to America in search of challenges and opportunity. He previously trained as a journeyman carpenter in the Swiss guild and brought with him the ethos that system embodied — a reverence for craftsmanship and the ambition to build structures that would outlast the builder.
In 1912, Mr. Fluor founded Fluor Construction Company in Santa Ana, California, leading the company until his death in 1944. Fluor Construction Company performed general contracting at the start and quickly gained a reputation for quality and innovation.

Fluor India was established in 1995 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor. Fluor India was established as one of Fluor's global execution centers.

Fluor awarded feasibility study for grassroots refinery in India
1996: Fluor awarded feasibility study for grassroots refinery in India
Fluor was awarded a contract by the Indian Oil Corporation and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to provide engineering services for the preparation of a detailed feasibility report for a grassroots refinery located in Orissa, India.

Fluor India and Tata Technodyne Ltd. form partnership
1996: Fluor India and Tata Technodyne Ltd. form partnership
Fluor Daniel India Pvt Ltd, and Tata Technodyne Ltd, a company formed by Tata Steel, signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly undertake engineering, procurement and construction work in core industrial sectors, including steel, power, hydrocarbons, ports and cement.

Fluor India commits to partnering with Literacy India
2002: Fluor India commits to partnering with Literacy India
Literacy India, a non-governmental organization under the Indian Trust Act of 1872 began its challenging journey in 1996 to develop a platform for underprivileged children.
Their vision is to empower the economically poor with two languages, a variety of skills in performing arts, science, technology and vocation-- giving the children basic human values, dignity of labor, confidence, and dreams.

2005: Fluor India executes engineering support for large Canadian Oil Sands project
Fluor India, along with Fluor's office in Calgary, performed detailed engineering and procurement services for the Long Lake oil sands project. Long Lake was the Canada's first oil sands project to integrate steam-assisted gravity drainage extraction technology with on-site upgrading and employs a new approach to the upgrading process.

Fluor India celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 1995. In its first 10 years of operations Fluor India grew and transformed into a energetic 500-person office located in New Delhi. The office's safety record and execution capabilities were recognized by Fluor management and clients.

Fluor was awarded a contract for engineering, procurement, and construction for Total’s Port Arthur, Texas, refinery. Fluor’s scope of work included building a coker, a desulfurization unit, a vacuum distillation unit, and other related infrastructure. Fluor offices in Aliso Viejo, California; Houston, Texas; and New Delhi, India, were the primary execution centers for the project.

Fluor provided detailed engineering for the polysilicon manufacturing process, technical support for procurement, and field support for the polysilicon plant. The plant was designed to manufacture 99.9999999% pure polysilicon from manufacturing-grade silica using hydrochlorination technology.

In 2011, Fluor was selected by BASF as their engineering partner in Asia-Pacific. The €150 million BASF Dahej project is the first to be executed under this umbrella contract for BASF projects in Asia-Pacific and is BASF's largest investment in India.

Fluor selected two Indian community organizations to each receive 10,000 USD.
Through Fluor's grant Doctors at the Door Step provided care at 22 health check-up sites.
Fluor employees helped construct the new sanitation facilities for the Haryana Welfare Center. This project was selected as a Centennial Community Fund Best in Class recipient.

In 2013, Fluor India expanded their office space in Gurgaon. The new facility set a benchmark for innovative workspace design. Peter Oosterveer inaugurated a new facility at Fluor New Delhi with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony March 15.

The National Human Resource Development (NHRD) Network of India recognized Fluor India for Best Gender Diversity Practices. The award was presented during the organization’s third annual Women’s Conference, Creating a Conducive Work Environment for Women, at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.

Chevron Canada Limited (Chevron) awards engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to Fluor joint venture for the proposed Kitimat Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project in Bish Cove, British Columbia, Canada. Fluor India assisted in preparing the FEED work for this project.

2014: Fluor India establishes a science lab at Saksham Bal Vikas Sanstha
As a 2014 Global Community Project Fund grant winner, Fluor India received USD 10,000 to establish a science lab at a school for underprivileged children. Saksham Bal Vikas Sanstha (Saksham) is a charitable organization committed to providing academic and vocational education to underprivileged children in grades 6-8. Fluor volunteers designed the lab’s infrastructure and layout, oversaw construction, and procured and installed the required equipment, giving the school a fully functional science lab that will serve nearly 100 students and instructors every year for many years to come.

This was Fluor's first project in India for BASF with a focus on utilizing local engineering and locally sourced equipment.
The new site is an integrated hub for polyurethane manufacturing and houses production facilities for care chemicals and polymer dispersions for coatings and paper. The chemical complex also comprises associated infrastructure, storage, utilities and offsites.

To mark the celebration of the International Women's Day, Arun Kumar Jain, managing director of Fluor India joined leaders at the Bombay Stock Exchange in Mumbai on March 9, 2015 to 'Ring the Bell' for gender equality. "Ringing the Bell" is a call to action for businesses to advance women's empowerment and gender equality.

2015: Fluor India continues to expand and open new office facilities

In 2015, Fluor management traveled to India to inaugurate the new office facilities. Originally opened in 1995 with just three people, Fluor India now employs more than 3,200 professionals in six office buildings. “Our India office has been a pivotal resource for Fluor clients for 20 years,” said David Seaton, chairman and chief executive officer, Fluor. “Our India operations play a critical role in achieving clients’ project capital efficiency business goals and Fluor’s integrated solutions approach.”
