Material Selection, Coatings and Cathodic Protection
Abstract
Fluor's corrosion experts have experience with a range of pipeline materials, coatings and cathodic protection, from very sour fluids, corrosive multi-phase fluids to high pressures up to 650 barg and high temperatures up to 160° C. Our material selection experience includes steel pipe, clad, exotic and plastic pipe. Internal corrosion control options include corrosion inhibitor selection, testing and injection rate determination or alternatively allow for a corrosion allowance in the design.
Our experience around the world from sabkha to swamp to arctic pipelines presents a unique understanding of the sensitive environmental factors that affect pipeline corrosion and cathodic protection. We also have experience with desert pipelines that are subject to a variety of other corrosion challenges.
Client Benefits
Fluor's in-house metallurgy team provides the benefits of an integrated team to develop optimized material and coating selection and cathodic protection solutions for corrosive fluids and challenging environments.
