Executive Summary
Fluor completed the front-end engineering and design (FEED) scopes for the Ona Mining Expansion Project for Mosaic Fertilizer, LLC, of The Mosaic Company. Mosaic operates facilities that mine and process phosphate for fertilizer production. The Ona Mining Expansion Project included expanding the existing South Pasture beneficiation plant, extending the life of the existing Four Corners beneficiation plant and installing a 15-mile mining access/pipeline corridor in central Florida.
Client's Challenge
The objective of the Mosaic project was to double the nameplate capacity of the existing South Pasture Facility and extend the life of the operating Four Corners Facility.

Fluor's Solution
Utilizing Mosaic's know-how and our phosphate fertilizer project execution capabilities, we completed trade-off studies, identified bottlenecks, performed onsite equipment capability assessments and developed a high-value process design.

Conclusion
The value-added results were included in a FEED package for Mosaic. Based on the successful completion of FEED work, we were awarded the construction management scope for the Four Corners Corridor project.
