As a global company, working in both developed and underdeveloped countries, we strive to improve the communities where we have a presence through programs and organizations that ensure basic human needs.
By participating in food programs and partnering with meal service delivery organizations across the globe, like Meals on Wheels® and Rise Against Hunger, Fluor and its employees provided more than 814,000 meals to those who were hungry in 2018. In addition, community programs such as health care check-ups for the disadvantaged, disaster relief for those in crisis and emergency shelter for the domestically abused are some of the preventative and emergency services that were provided to more than 41,000 individuals as a result of Fluor and our employees’ investments.
Some highlights of Fluor social services initiatives include:
Every year, teams of Fluor volunteers in Canada, the Philippines and the United States take on the challenge of building massive structures entirely out of cans for Canstruction design and build competitions. The competitions benefit local food banks and provide employees the opportunity to demonstrate their talents, while fulfilling Fluor's commitment to feeding the hungry.
Rise Against Hunger
821 million people in the world don't get the food they need to live a healthy life. In fact, malnutrition is the single largest contributor to disease in the world. These are some of the reasons why Fluor has partnered with Rise Against Hunger to help alleviate food insecurity by hosting meal packing events at various Fluor locations. Rise Against Hunger's assembly line approach makes for a fun and meaningful engagement opportunity for Fluor employees while contributing to the millions of nutritious meals distributed annually by Rise Against Hunger to countries around the world.
Meals on Wheels
Throughout the year, Fluor employees volunteer to deliver meals for Meals on Wheels in Greenville, South Carolina.
Fluor is the largest corporate partner for meal deliveries for Meals on Wheels in Greenville County, with more than 200 employee volunteers delivering meals on 19 routes.
