Gas - Cogeneration

Cogeneration (Combined Heat and Power or CHP) can significantly improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and control future energy costs by utilizing waste heat produced in energy intensive industrial, refinery or manufacturing processes. Fluor has over 6,300 MW experience with cogeneration projects utilizing natural gas, process off gases, and solid fuels, which produce power, process steam and other utilities.

Fluor works with Clients’ specific requirements and economic drivers to develop fit for purpose facilities. Starting at the design phase, Fluor develops the overall CHP cycle configuration optimized to match project and stakeholder requirements for reliability and cost efficiency. Key criteria considered during the design are constructability, maintainability and operability. Fluor has the expertise to integrate and interface to existing facilities and processes as well as for the development of new facilities.

Fluor’s knowledge, experience and relationships with major gas and steam turbine suppliers and heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) manufacturers help streamline the design, procurement and construction process, eliminating potential rework and avoiding schedule and cost delays.

Solid Fuel

Fluor's experience covers all aspects of pulverized coal as well as fluidized-bed combustion plant designs.

Fluor can generate coal-fired designs using pre-engineered reference plant designs, using state-of-the-art automation and collaboration tools. Fluor’s reference plant designs achieve the highest standards in performance, reliability, availability, operability and maintainability. Fluor's reference designs can shorten lead times, reduce capital costs and promote shorter schedules.
