One of Fluor's core competencies is education and training. Fluor provides training services for the Department of Labor's (DOL) Job Corps Program, the nation's largest and most comprehensive residential education and job training program for at-risk youth ages 16 through 24.
Job Corps is a free education and training program that helps young people in need of assistance learn skills, earn professional commercial certifications and credentials and if necessary finish their high school diploma or GED with the goal of full-time employment. Fluor operations Job Corps Centers in New Mexico, Mississippi and Florida.
The true benchmark in determining the success of the Job Corps program is the number of students who transition into employment when they leave the center. Fluor hires Job Corps graduates to work in the construction and administrative fields. The Graduate Placement Program brings commercial project supervisors to the Centers to improve training and then assists in the placing of students on Fluor projects.
