Jose Bustamante

Executive Vice President, Energy & Chemicals - Business Development and Strategy; Chair, Corporate Sales Board

Jose Luis Martin de Bustamante serves as the executive vice president of business development and strategy for Fluor's Energy & Chemicals business group. In this role, he is responsible for business development in the upstream and downstream oil and gas markets as well as the chemical and petrochemical industries. In addition, Mr. Bustamante chairs Fluor's Corporate Sales Board, whose purpose is to cultivate Client relationships, manage sales processes, oversee sales support functions, develop sales people and maintain sales systems.

Prior to this role, Mr. Bustamante was Fluor's executive vice president for business development and strategy. Before that, he was senior vice president, business development, marketing and strategic planning for Fluor’s Energy & Chemicals business.

Mr. Bustamante joined Fluor in 1990, and has served the company in a number of executive assignments and international locations. From 2009 to 2013 he was head of Middle East operations in Abu Dhabi, and led business development for the Europe, Africa, and Middle East region.

He has more than 27 years of experience in sales and operations in the engineering and construction industry – focused on oil, gas, chemicals, mining, industrial and infrastructure. Other international assignments include Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Puerto Rico, Chile, Brazil, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.

Mr. Bustamante’s board memberships include Fluor Arabia Ltd (FAL), Fluor Kuwait, and COOEC-Fluor Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. in China.

Mr. Bustamante holds a bachelor's degree in economics and business studies from C.U.N.E.F., Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Spain and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston, Texas. He is also a graduate of the Thunderbird University International Management Program.
