Environmental Compliance Technologies

Fluor is an EPC company that integrates the flue gas desulfurization (FGD) system into the plant while performing engineering, balance of plant design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Fluor is very knowledgeable with the different FGD technologies on the market today and the company's experience and neutral position allows Fluor to examine clients' requirements and to effectively evaluate and recommend the optimal FGD technology that most cost-effectively meets their needs.

Client Benefits

Fluor experts help clients understand the specific advantages and disadvantages of implementing different compliance technologies. Fluor relevant experience includes:

  • FGDs (flue gas desulfurization) to remove SOx – 77 projects using many different FGD technologies that service a total power plant capacity of 19,396 megawatts around the world.
  • SCRs (selective catalytic reduction) to remove NOx – 67 projects using different SCR technologies that service a total power plant capacity of 42,210 megawatts around the world.
  • ESPs (electrostatic precipitators) to remove particulates – 23 projects using different ESP technologies that service a total power plant capacity of 11,971 megawatts around the world.
  • Baghouses (BHs) to remove particulates – 30 projects using different BH technologies that service a total power plant capacity of 4,264 megawatts around the world.
