Combined Hydrotreating Process

Combined Hydrotreating Process

Fluor's patented Combined Hydrotreating Process is a processing scheme that hydrotreats a heavy hydrocarbon stream and a lighter hydrocarbon stream in a series. The most common application for the process is for processing gas oil and diesel streams in a single reactor loop.

Client Benefits

Fluor's experience in gas oil hydrotreating and integrated hydrotreating units offers clients the unique ability to cascade hydrotreating schemes and lower capital and operating costs.

While this processing scheme can be applied to revamp existing units, the more common application for the integrated scheme will be for new units.

As refineries continue to change to meet changes in crude availability, product specification and product demands, there will continue to be a need for new hydrotreater units. Building one integrated unit can offer significant cost savings.
