Fluor Offers Clients Fabrication Solutions in Southern Africa.
Clients are increasingly seeking companies that offer integrated engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction (EPFC) approaches to project execution. Fluor’s global EPC execution platform and offsite fabrication capabilities provide advantages to help Clients executing work in Africa achieve significant time and cost savings, support fast-track project schedules and reduce risks such as adverse weather conditions and labour shortages.
Fluor’s modular approach offers distinct advantages over traditional “stick-built” construction, including:
- Enhanced safety performance
- Improved craft productivity
- Reduced peak craft workforce onsite
- Minimized impact to existing facility
- Shortened construction schedule
- Reduced site indirect costs
Fluor offers two approaches to offsite fabrication.
Fluor operates self-perform fabrication facilities around the globe:
Edmonton, Canada – Fluor formed a partnership in Canada in 2013 to provide fully integrated engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction (EPFC) solutions to a wide range of projects across Canada. The fabrication yard in Edmonton has a capacity of 18,000 MT per year.
Sakhalin Island, Russia - Fluor formed the joint venture, ANGS, on Russia's Sakhalin Island to offer full-service fabrication and modular assembly solutions to Clients in the region. With an annual capacity of 2,500 MT, the company has both pipe and steel fabrication capabilities. Located near the island's main rail shipping networks, ANGS also has outdoor assembly space, large indoor facilities and meets all Russian requirements for utilisation of local labour.
Tampico, Mexico - A Fluor joint venture in Mexico owns two fabrication yards in Tampico, Mexico. With a combined capacity of 45,000 MTs per year, the fabrication facilities can support pipe racks, offshore platforms and process module fabrication.
Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China - Fluor and Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (COOEC) have agreed to form a new fabrication joint venture, COOEC-Fluor Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. to provide very large modules for offshore Clients in the Asia Pacific region and globally. The Zhuhai Fabrication Yard is a world-class, state-of-the-art facility and is located near Hong Kong in the Zhuhai Gaolan Port Economic Zone. The facility can accommodate fabrication modules weighing more than 50,000 tons.
Fluor also has a global network of fabrication suppliers to provide engineering, fabrication, module assembly and construction services to Clients worldwide. With access to more than 145 major independently operated fabrication yards globally, Fluor has the global reach to provide integrated EPFC solutions anywhere in the world.
