Fluor has a long tradition of community service around the world. While Fluor's core business is centred on engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance, providing service to the communities in which Fluor employees work and live is Fluor's privilege. Fluor's global volunteer programs operate under the brand, Fluor Cares^®.

Fluor South Africa is proud of its legacy and commitment to the communities in which it works. One programme that Fluor supports is the Progress Preschool in eMbalenhle, Secunda. Bright renovated mobile site offices now serve as temporary classrooms. Basic facilities, water reticulation, and ablution blocks have been upgraded.

Moving forward in 2012, the Progress Preschool Trust is being registered. The Trust, funded by Fluor, will purchase the land and embark on an extensive rebuilding programme that will transform Progress Preschool into a top centre for early education. First time learners at Progress Pre-school are beneficiaries of Fluor’s Global Back to Basics Backpack programme.

Fluor also supports the Gordon Primary School in Alexandra and Engineers' Week, among others.
