Project Highlights
Onshore Projects

Second Generation Project (SGP) and Sour Gas Injection (SGI)
TengizChevroil (TCO)
Tengizchevroil (a joint venture between ChevronTexaco, ExxonMobil, the Kazakhstan government, and LukArco) is undertaking a $3.9 Billion world class expansion of its Oil & Gas Production facilities in western Kazakhstan. When finished, SGI/SGP will increase crude oil production from the current 13 million metric tons of crude to 20 - 24 million metric tons per annum. This project includes the largest single train Oil/Gas Separation Facility, the world’s largest single train Sulfur Recovery facility, the first of its kind pressure/high H2S concentration Gas Re-Injection facility, and an extensive upgrading of the infrastructure in Kazakhstan. Fluor, along with its partner, Parsons E&C, is providing EPCM services to this project.
- This project has implemented a unique safety program (known as IIF- Incident and Injury Free) to ensure the safe performance of all tasks in all locations
- Construction activities started in 2003, and will be completed in 2006
- This project is making a valuable contribution to the local economy by employing thousands of Kazakhstan nationals (designers, engineers, managers, fabricators, and construction workers)
Villano Oil Pipeline
Ecuador
Fluor provided engineering, procurement, survey, construction, and maintenance services to the development of the ARCO/AGIP Villano field in a virgin Ecuadorian rain forest. The project involved production facilities and an export pipeline for 30,000 bpd crude oil development. The facilities included: well-site facilities, central processing facilities, electrical power generation facilities, a 40-kilometer, 12-inch flowline, a 40-kilometer power transmission line, 130-kilometers of an 16-inch oil export pipeline, pump stations, and a produced water handling and injection system.
- This project received ARCO's Environmental Achievement Award and was cited as an outstanding success by the Ecuadorian government
- Fluor helped the client save $50 million by using an innovative monorail system to transport the pipe along the fragile right-of-way (ROW)
- This “invisible pipeline” was constructed on a 3-meter ROW
Offshore Platforms
Bayu Undan
East Timor Sea, Australia
Fluor, together with its joint-venture partners, provided detailed engineering, procurement and construction support services for the project. The construction support included fabrication, hook-up and commissioning, as well as operating services. This project produced the first series of high-angle wells in the East Timor Sea.
- A remote wellhead platform serves as a drilling center for 14 wells
- A central production and processing (CPP) complex is comprised of a well-drilling, production and compression platform as well as a utilities and quarters platform
Bohai Bay – Phase II Development Project
Northeastern Coast of China
Located approximately 140 miles offshore, this project includes three remote wellhead platforms, a central processing complex and a new double-hull FPSO system. Upon completion of this project, it will be the largest offshore production facility in China. With the first stage complete and fully operational, the second phase is currently underway and will allow full field development based on:
- World scale oil processing capacity with several wellhead platforms producing oil for shipment to a new FPSO via sub-sea pipelines
- Centralized power generation and central production complex
- Upgraded multi-path swivel mooring system
Floating Solutions / FPSO Projects
Kizomba A FPSO
Offshore Angola, West Africa
EPCM services were provided for the development of this project located 60 miles off the coast of West Africa. Encompassing more than 30 dry production wells and 26 wet-water injectors, the production facilities operate as deep as 4,200 feet below the surface.
- This project represents West Africa's largest deepwater production facility
- This project includes 25,000 tons of topsides processing over 200,000 BPD
- The project was completed ahead of schedule despite extremely restrictive constraints
Bleo Holm FPSO
Ross Field, Offshore, UK
Fluor, in a joint venture with United Industrial Enterprise (UIE), performed EPC of the FPSO process facility storage and offloading unit. The process facility includes oil/water separation, gas compression, seawater treatment and seawater injection into the reservoir.
- The peak oil production rate was 40,000 bpd
- The project, executed on the basis of a demanding, fast-track schedule, was completed in just 22 months
