Project Highlights

Base Load Plants

Ju'Aymah Plant
250,000 bpd NGL Fractionation Center
Ju'aymah, Saudi Arabia

Fluor performed front-end engineering and design for the major facilities expansion of the Ju'Aymah plant in Saudi Arabia. The project included development of a new site for the major facilities and a revamp of the primary utility systems.

  • Design of the tie-in to existing facilities to minimize disruption of existing operations during construction and commissioning
  • Completion of the project on schedule and under budget

Gas Treating

Shedgum
547 MMscfd Improved Econamine Train
Shedgum, Saudi Arabia

Fluor had engineering, procurement, construction and construction management responsibilities on the Shedgum Gas Plant. This project was part of a larger program launched to conserve and utilize natural gases previously considered to be waste products and included:

  • Extinguishing of flares and sweetening gas while recovering 70-90 percent natural gas liquids
  • Production of a sales gas consisting primarily of methane to provide fuel for industrialization
  • Fractionation of the NGL to produce ethane for petrochemical feedstock and propane, butane, and natural gasoline for export

LNG

LNG HP Expansion Project Distrigas of Massachusetts
Boston, Massachusetts

Fluor provided construction management services and support engineering to expand the capacity of Distrigas’ Boston LNG storage and vaporization facility. The LNG HP Expansion Project involved;

  • Upgrading and expanding facilities to increase the sendout capacity by 600 million scfd in high pressure gas sales.
  • Custom engineered components (vacuum jacketed piping and flexible connectors)for use in low process temperatures (-257 degrees F), and "tight-line" product delivery to an adjacent power plant.
  • Fluor’s scope included engineering support of prototype submerged combustion vaporizers and de-NOx units capable of meeting 5-ppm LAER requirements.

Sulfur Facilities

Cactus
320 tpd Unit in the 1,600 tpd Pemex Sulfur Plant
Cactus Gas Plant Complex, Mexico

Fluor provided FEED services and developed a basic engineering package for this PEMEX gas project in Chiapas, Mexico.

  • An increase in C2 + NGL capacity to 143,000 bpd
  • Debottlenecking of two 110,000 bpd C2 and NGL fractionation centers

Bellingham FPL Facility
Bellingham, MA

Fluor performed EPC work on this CO2 recovery plant for Northeast Associates in Bellingham, MA. The facility utilizes Fluor's proprietary process, Econamine FG PlusSM, an energy efficient process for the removal of Carbon Dioxide from flue gases.

  • The only commercial-scale CO2 recovery unit in the world operating on gas turbine flue gas with an on-stream factor of 98.5%.
  • The high quality of the carbon dioxide product is suitable for use in the food and beverage industry.
  • No other process has been demonstrated at this high, 13% volume, oxygen concentration.
