Since its founding, Fluor has recognized the importance of being a valuable member of the communities where we live and work. Whether at a project site or a permanent office site, Fluor and its employees work to build and grow strong, viable, and sustainable communities.

As Fluor helps its clients build infrastructure throughout the world, it also invests financial and human resources through initiatives that address community needs. The strong commitment to Community Involvement reflects Fluor's longstanding dedication to making a positive impact on the communities we touch. With worldwide operations in more than 25 countries and territories, Fluor is investing more than $6 million in 2007 along with contributions and thousands of hours of employee volunteer service to communities where we live and work.

Since its founding almost 100 years ago, Fluor has believed in and practiced corporate social responsibility and good citizenship. From the early beginnings in Southern California to our current global reach, our culture of community involvement has benefited the economy and societal fabric at the locations where we live and work. And while Fluor and its employees have contributed millions of dollars and tens of thousands of volunteer hours to strengthen those communities, we have also remained an outstanding investment for our shareholders. As proud as we are of this record, we are likewise determined to improve upon it.
Alan Boeckmann, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Together with the efforts of employees worldwide, Fluor's Community Involvement and outreach efforts are varied and tailored to best meet the needs of local communities. Making a positive impact on the quality of life in the communities where we live and work has been a longstanding value for our company. To that end, corporate and employee efforts include the following:

  • Contributions. Fluor invests company resources in education, human services, cultural organizations, and public/civic affairs.
  • Volunteerism. Employee teams throughout the world conduct service projects that assist local communities and organizations.
  • Employee Giving. Fluor employees contribute financially to United Way, human service organizations, and universities, with certain qualifying contributions matched by the company.
  • Educational Outreach and Scholarships. Fluor and its employees partner to strengthen universities and local schools, help create a diverse and skilled workforce, and offer scholarships — all to increase opportunities for students.
