Fluor has been designing and building onshore and subsea pipeline projects for more than 90 years. Engineering, procurement, and construction management services for pipeline projects include feasibility studies through detailed design, permitting, construction, program management, and initial operation. Pipeline project locations are worldwide, including Africa, Argentina, Canada, Caribbean, Chile, Ecuador, Kazakhstan, Russia, and the U.S.

Our expertise encompasses both small and large (60-inch) diameter pipelines for the transportation of a multitude of commodities including:

  • Crude oil –light to heavy, with diluents and sweet to sour
  • Refined petroleum products –gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, etc.
  • Liquefied petroleum gases –LPGs: butane, propane and propylene
  • Natural gas –sweet as well as sour natural gas, dense phase, and high pressure
  • Special use gases & chemicals –nitrogen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, ammonia, liquid chlorine & sulfuric acid
  • Water –waste to potable including seawater and produced water

Fluor is strong in all major facets of pipeline design as well as structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, instrument and SCADA system engineering. Fluor has proven experience and global reach to execute the complete range of challenging pipeline projects:

Onshore and Cross-Country Pipelines
Fluor's onshore pipeline experience includes more than 200,000 miles of installed pipeline, developed for a wide range of terrains, including deserts, mountains, oceans and rain forests, and for climates ranging from sweltering tropics to the frozen Arctic.
Subsea Pipelines and Flow Assurance
Fluor has designed some of the world’s largest and longest offshore pipelines, successfully designing pipelines and flowlines to carry oil, gas, multi-phase production, gas condensate, and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Marine Terminals
Fluor has extensive international experience on all types of port, harbor, and terminal projects providing project management, planning, design, procurement, construction, construction management, as well as operations and maintenance services.
