Fluor opened its office in Beijing in 1978, making Fluor one of the first multinational engineering and construction contractors to establish operations in China.

In 1995, the Shanghai office was established to focus on the growing Chinese and international chemical, petrochemical, microelectronics, manufacturing and automotive investment. Currently, with more than 885 employees, Fluor's Shanghai office serves as a bridge connecting Fluor global expertise with customers in China.
