Fluor Offers Flexible Construction Solutions to Clients in Canada and internationally.
Fluor provides flexible construction approaches to Clients in the oil, gas, power, mining, metals, infrastructure, and power industries. Under the self-perform construction approach, Fluor manages resources on the company’s payroll. Using this approach enables maximum control of critical-path and fast track construction while also providing cost and performance benefits.
Fluor can also serve as the construction manager on a project, securing labour through carefully selected subcontractors that have a proven history of safe work performance, execution excellence, and commercial success.
An integral part of any construction approach is Fluor's commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental excellence. Fluor’s total case incidence rate is significantly better compared to the Construction Industry Institutes rates.
3rd Gen Modular ExecutionSM
Fluor offers 3rd Gen Modular Execution capabilities as an alternative to stick-built construction. This execution approach begins early in the project and includes all construction and shop fabrication representatives. Fluor's proprietary approach to modularisation drives the layout of facilities, with detailed design substantially reducing quantities and field work by optimizing the process block including equipment, piping, electrical and control systems.
In April 2015, the Edison AwardsTM, which recognizes the best of innovation in new products and services, selected Fluor's 3rd Gen Modular Execution approach as a finalist in the energy and conservation category. Fluor utilized this innovative solution on the Shell Quest Carbon Capture and Storage project in Alberta.
Fluor’s constructability program integrates comprehensive construction competence into each phase of a project, from early project planning, through engineering and procurement, to construction and start-up. The effective utilization of the constructability program promotes an integrated team approach. The team’s innovative mindset develops optimum solutions for the execution of a project to meet construction requirements, plant operations and maintenance requirements, provide reliability, and achieve project schedule and cost savings requirements.
Fluor uses Workface Planning when executing construction projects in country. This process organizes and delivers all the elements necessary for the construction of projects before the work is started to enable craft workers to perform quality work in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
