Fluor in Canada has been awarded the Work Safe Alberta 2005 Best Safety Performer for exceptional performance in workplace health and safety. This is the third consecutive year that Fluor has won this award.

The award is part of Work Safe Alberta, a unique partnership between industry, labour and government that has reduced Alberta's workplace injury rate by 29 per cent since 2000. Under Work Safe Alberta, industry, safety associations, labour and government work together to reduce workplace incidents through public awareness, health and safety education, legislative changes, and increased compliance efforts and prosecutions. Since 1995, Fluor has been the official sponsor of the Calgary Stampede's Rope Square. Every year, Fluor provides over 200 volunteers to help cook pancakes and welcome hundreds of visitors who visit Rope Square during Stampede week.
