Calgary Board of Education Lighthouse Award (Feb 2004)

The Lighthouse Award recognizes a Calgary corporation, business or organization for its contributions to the CBE, its schools and its programs. Fluor Canada received the award because of its long-standing and exemplary partnership with Central Memorial High School in Calgary.

2003

Leaders In Business Award, Volunteer Calgary Silver Winner

The Leaders in Business Awards are presented to businesses that demonstrate leadership in workplace volunteerism. Fluor Canada received the Silver Award for its workplace volunteer program. The Fluor Volunteer Team's mission is “...to identify significant social service projects in the Calgary community and to lead the execution of these projects with a volunteer task force.”

2002

The Calgary Chamber of Commerce Salute to Excellence Award

This award is given to Calgary-based businesses who exemplify outstanding achievements in sustainability, excellence, leadership, and community contribution in the category of Professional Services.

The United Way of Calgary Gold Award for Campaign Excellence

The award is given to companies whose participation levels meet or exceed 80%. Fluor has won this award four years in a row.

United Way

Each year employees give generously during the company's October campaign. Participation is so high, it's earned Fluor gold and platinum awards over the past years.

In Our Community

Fluor Rope Square

Since 1995, Fluor has been the official sponsor of the Calgary Stampede's Best Kept Secret Rope Square. Every year, Fluor employees serve pancakes to thousands of Calgarians and visitors. Join us at our Stampede breakfast and stay for a rollicking good time - Western style!

Calgary Corporate Challenge

In September, Fluor folks give it the gears. Fluor has participated in the Calgary Corporate Challenge since its inception. Each year we enter teams in over 20 events that range from bowling to bike racing.

Education

High School Partnerships

Fluor has enjoyed active partnerships with local area high schools. Employees volunteer their time to mentor students and actively become involved in many aspects of school life from sports and cultural activities to career development and job shadowing.

Fluors Volunteer Team has generated a lot of enthusiasm among employees in recent years. In fact, the team has been recognized locally for its outstanding contributions. At our many offices and project sites throughout Canada, employees identify needs in their communities and develop programs to support local organizations.
