Solar, Biomass, Wind Turbine & Geothermal Power Plant Design & Construction

Fluor is at the forefront of commercializing renewable energy, servicing the solar, wind, biomass, and geothermal power markets. Fluor offers a full range of services to bring renewable projects from conceptual design to final completion, with renewable energy project development experience including engineering, procurement, construction, plant technology integration, program management, operations and maintenance, and commissioning services.

Photovoltaic

From polysilicon production and panel manufacturing facilities through to utility scale PV power generating facilities, Fluor, with over 25 years in the field, spans the entire commercial-scale photovoltaic (PV) value chain. Fluor is driving utility scale PV projects to the lowest levelized cost of electricity (LCOE), by leveraging our global supply chain and optimizing plant configurations.

Concentrating Solar Power (CSP)

Leveraging our extensive knowledge of power plant process system design, Fluor designs and constructs solar thermal power projects to allow the equipment to be quickly and reliably started while minimizing thermal stress on the system components.
Fluor is currently providing engineering and procurement services for three 50-megawatt solar thermal projects in Spain and one 250-megawatt solar thermal project in the US.

Wind

Fluor pioneered development of a 500-MW offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom. We secured a connection to the U.K. National Grid to supply offshore wind turbines, heavy steel structures, and other critical supply-chain elements. Fluor's success in the offshore wind market demonstrates our ability to provide value to clients looking for onshore wind energy solutions.

Biomass

Fluor has provided EPC and commissioning services for fluidized bed units, waste-to-energy, retrofits and fuel conversion projects. Facility designs are generated readily and efficiently using our reference plant designs, 3D CAD, and collaboration tools; the benefits are shortened lead times, reduced capital costs, and shorter schedules.

Geothermal

Geothermal clients look to Fluor to provide our in-depth knowledge of large, complex projects. Fluor’s geothermal EPC experience dates back more than 20 years and includes projects in the United States and Indonesia.
