Kirk Grimes serves as Fluor Corporation's Group Executive and head of Operations overseeing the company's Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Risk Management and Sustainability functions, as well as Project Execution Services, Project Excellence Network and Strategic Planning. Additionally, Grimes leads a business transformation process that is evaluating changes to the company infrastructure and how to address markets in the future.

 

Prior to his current position, Grimes served as group president of Fluor's Global Services Business Group for the past eight years heading up Operations & Maintenance business, TRS temporary staffing, and AMECO equipment rental business. In this role, he consolidated the company's services business and grew them three fold to being a significant contributor to overall company performance.

 

Grimes served as group executive of Fluor's oil, gas, and chemicals group from 2001-2004 leading the company's largest business. In this role, he headed up the company's activities in the upstream, downstream, and chemical oil & gas industries.

 

Since joining Fluor in 1980, Grimes has held a variety of sales, engineering, project, and general management positions. He has served as president of both Fluor's Telecommunications and Chemicals business units and has performed various management responsibilities while on assignment in Europe and throughout the United States.

 

Active in a variety of civic and professional organisations, he has served on the board of directors for Fluor Arabia Limited and has served as director on the boards of ICA Fluor and US-China Business Council. Grimes is a member of Fluor's Executive Development, Benefits and Ethics and Compliance forums and sits on the Board of Trustees of The Fluor Foundation.

 

Grimes graduated from California State University, Fresno, with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He is a graduate of the Thunderbird School of Global Management and the University of California at Los Angeles business school's advanced management program.
